The Portland Cello Project - The Thao and Justin...
16 cellists from Portland create the backdrop for Thao Nguyen (Thao with the Get Down Stay Down) and Justin Power (who I haven’t heard of until now to be quite honest.) The music doesn’t stray far from what Thao is used to making, it blends quite smoothly with her voice. More tracks from Thao in 2009 is a great thing.

Weezy F Baby’s rock album “Rebirth” is supposed to come out in February. The album is done, but it was pushed back most likely to come closer to his jail date. The thing is Amazon messed that up. Someone shipped out albums to 500 people who had pre-ordered it. Whoops. So naturally it’s on the internet.

46 Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3
I did talk a lot of shit about Jay-Z sounding like a tired old man on this album but I still have to put it up there as the 46th best of 2009. Why? Every beat on this album is a masterpiece. Kanye’s production on this album is choice. Hopefully Kanye’s next album production will be this good.
